This is a 10 month (mid June through mid August ) fixed duration, two-year position. In conjunction with physician or Head Athletic Trainer, devises a treatment plan and carries out rehabilitative techniques. Assesses effectiveness of treatment plans and recommend modified courses of actions. Recommends and administers policies on fitness and medical care for injuries.
1. Under the supervision of the Head Trainer, treats and rehabilitates athletes to return to full activity levels. 2. Conducts pre-season screening and conditioning to prevent injuries during competitions. 3. Administers first aid and emergency techniques. 4. Recommends new or modified care treatment; documents treatments, referrals, and injury reports. 5. Determines methods for educating both athletes and coaching staff on proper training techniques and modalities. 6. In conjunction with team physician, determines when an athlete has completed a rehabilitation program and can resume an appropriate level of activity. 7. Travels with and/or oversees assigned varsity sport team.
